Open, human, diverse and respectful: this approach has been working beautifully at the VUB for the past 50 years. And we have no intention of changing that (quite the contrary).
On our campuses themselves
On the one hand, we apply that human atmosphere internally. You won't find a lot of formalities, etiquette or hierarchy at the VUB. Just ask anyone: we have an open, friendly, family-like atmosphere. Our annual barbecue is a high point is that regard: 1,500 close colleagues sharing a meal and having a fantastic time together.

We strive to apply that human atmosphere towards the outside world as well. For example, we are involved in supporting many Brussels-based initiatives. After all, our capital city is a microcosm of the world, and we are happy to be an integral part of it each day. Via weKONEKT.brussels, we aim to further reinforce our connection with the capital by providing classes at a number of locations outside of the campuses.
