2 - Position Description

At the Brussels School of Governance, you will work in a dynamic international academic environment where education, policy and global engagement come together. In this role, you will help shape the future student community of BSoG and represent the School across Europe and beyond.

 

You will be part of the BSoG’s marketing and communication (Marcom) team.

 

As Student Recruitment Officer at the Brussels School of Governance (BSoG), your tasks include various activities directly linked to the recruitment of students for different programmes of the BSoG – Bachelors, Masters, Advanced Masters, Postgraduate Certificates, and Summer and Winter Schools.

 

You are the first point of contact for prospective students and partners. Through presentations, student recruitment fairs, webinars and direct communication, you inspire and guide students in their decision to join BSoG.

 

This is a highly international and outward-facing role that combines student recruitment, relationship building and communication. You will travel to fairs and events in different countries, mainly in Europe, and will work closely with the MarCom team, academic management, partner institutions, prospective students, and student ambassadors to help with the successful implementation of the School’s recruitment strategy.

 

A selection of your duties as a Student Recruitment Officer:

Student recruitment and outreach
You actively promote BSoG programmes and engage with prospective students in Europe and beyond. You will:

  • Represent BSoG at student fairs, recruitment events and conferences in Belgium and abroad;
  • Deliver presentations and webinars to prospective students and partners
  • Actively follow up with interested candidates and guide them through the application journey;
  • Answer pre-application questions and provide personalised advice about BSoG programmes;
  • Build and maintain relationships with schools, partner universities, counsellors and recruitment networks.
  • Welcome prospective students, families, and partners to our campus.

 

Conversion & student engagement
You help turn prospective students into successful applicants. You will:

  • Serve as first point of contact for prospective students via email, video calls, phone and during events;
  • Maintain contact with leads and ensure timely follow-up;
  • Create engaging email campaigns, presentations and recruitment materials, in collaboration with your communication colleagues;
  • Support initiatives such as Open Days, information sessions and orientation activities.

 

Recruitment strategy & process improvement
You contribute to the continuous development of BSoG’s recruitment activities. You will:

  • Help implement the School’s recruitment strategy;
  • Contribute to the improvement of recruitment processes and outreach initiatives;
  • Support the maintenance of the BSoG’s alumni network;
  • Support other marketing and recruitment activities when needed

 

For this function, our Campus in Etterbeek will serve as your home base.

3 - Profile

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive communicator who enjoys connecting with people from different cultures and backgrounds. You:

  • You hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, social sciences, media, education or a related field;
  • You have excellent presentation and communication skills and enjoy public speaking;
  • You are fluent in English (written and spoken), knowledge of other languages is considered an asset;
  • You are outgoing, confident and persuasive, with a natural ability to connect with people;
  • You enjoy networking and building international relationships;
  • You are well organised and able to manage multiple recruitment activities simultaneously;
  • You are a proactive problem-solver who can switch gears quickly and come up with solutions in unexpected situations;
  • You can work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • You are flexible and willing to travel frequently (about 40% of your time, with peak periods September-November / February-April), including occasional weekend work (with appropriate compensation);
  • You are comfortable using digital tools and presentation software, e.g. Zoom, MS Office and similar tools;
  • Knowledge of Dutch is an asset;
  • Recent graduates are especially encouraged to apply.

4 - Offer
