The preparation of a doctorate, performance of scientific research, or more concretely:

It concerns a PhD with research as the main task with the submission of a doctroal thesis and to reach the doctoral grade as goal.


- Research

the candidate will perform research in the framework of the MOBI research group, more particularly in the field of electric energy storage (batteries) and energy supply infrastructure for electric vehicles and other applications, with particular interest for safety aspects and standardization.


- Teaching

In a limited way, the candidate will assist in the organization and guidance of educational tasks of the department. This comprises the guidance of exercises, practical sessions and projects for courses within the bachelor and master programmes Industrial Sciences/Engineering Sciences.

The teaching duties will be discussed yearly. The language of instruction is mainly Dutch, and partially English.


- Other

The candidate will be engaged in promotional actions for the department’s programmes (e.g. presence on info days, accompanying spring or fall camps), and may participate in the daily management of the department through participating in councils and/or commissions.

Master in industrial sciences or master in engineering sciences

 degree or diploma.


You have not performed any works in the execution of a mandate as an assistant, paid from operating resources, over a total (cumulated) period of more than 12 months.


The effective result of the doctorate scholarship is subject to the condition precedent of enrolment of the fellow as a doctorate student at the university.
