2 - Position Description
As part of our team, you'll collaborate with a group of enthusiastic colleagues who share a commitment to excellence in education. Working closely with the Vice-Dean of Education, and our esteemed faculty, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting teaching staff and enhancing the experience of our students—especially those in our master programmes.
A selection of your duties as a Faculty assistant:
- Support faculty members in their administrative needs, contributing to a positive educational environment;
- Facilitate effective communication and coordination between faculty and students;
- Assist in the processing and management of relevant data from the moment of enrollment, e.g. grading input assistance, course registration and scheduling, faculty meeting preparation and follow-up;
- Assist in course and curriculum management;
- Provide information on campus resources, policies, and procedures to relevant stakeholders;
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of activities and services, making recommendations for improvements as necessary;
- Utilise and maintain knowledge of relevant systems and software to enhance operational efficiency.
For this function, our Brussels Humanities, Sciences & Engineering Campus (Elsene) will serve as your home base.
3 - Profile
What do we expect from you?
- Degree: Highschool or bachelor degree
- You have demonstrated previous experience in an administrative support role, preferably within an educational setting;
- You are service-oriented and like to help students and faculty;
- You are familiar with data processing and have the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly;
- You have good verbal and communication skills in English; knowledge of Dutch would be an asset;
- You can work with Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams), modern office software and you can quickly familiarise yourself with various data files;
- You are organised and can deliver tasks in a timely manner;
- You have the proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, international and fast-paced environment;
- You can work autonomously, but you can also work collaboratively with other departments to resolve complex problems;
- You act on the basis of the codes of integrity, carefulness, objectivity, equal treatment, correctness, and transparency.
- You must have a valid work permit allowing you to work in Belgium.
