At the VUB, you’ll find a diverse collection of personalities: pure innovators and especially people who are 100% their authentic selves. With about 3.500 employees, we are the largest Flemish-speaking employer in Brussels, an international city with which we are all too happy to be connected, and around which our four campuses are located.

2 - Position Description

The Vrije Universiteit Brussel is looking for an Eutopia Open Science Project Leader. In the EUTOPIA-TRAIN project, the EUTOPIA partners (6 universities) will work together to mainstream Open Science practices. As an Eutopia Open Science Project Leader your task is to coordinate the Open Science work package as described in the EUTOPIA-TRAIN project.

  • Design framework policies for research assessment reform to reflect Open Science practices;
  • Implement those new guidelines at VUB;
  • Disseminate and promote the results of the project (policy documents, guidelines, courses…) widely;
  • Look for additional funding opportunities and provide support in applying for additional funding.

You are part of the ‘Research Information and Data Management’ team within the R&D department of the VUB. For this function you will be located at our campus in Etterbeek. You will work in close collaboration with the different EUTOPIA partners.

  • You like to work on an independent basis and you take initiative;
  • You work effortlessly in a team;
  • You are stress resistant and are not afraid to handle many files (+ deadlines) at the same time.

4 - Offer

Are you going to be our new colleague? You’ll be offered a temporary (3 year) full-time contract at a salary linked to Grade 7 or 8, depending on your competences and previous relevant work experience.
